Our mission is to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty, and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring Society.
The AHS extends compassion to animals and people. Services and programs include: animal intake and care, adoptions, education, advocacy, consultation and crises intervention, food bank, hospital/clinic, rescue, resource for social service agencies, and support of the indigent. The Society, the only agency providing such extensive and focused animal welfare services in the Southeast, serves its constituency with hope.
